My client Amber originally planned for this session to include her little fam of 3, but last minute her husband ended up not being able to make their trip to 30A, so she asked if her mom could join in on their session instead - of course I was like "heck yes!" I was sad her husband couldn't make it so they could have some nice family photos together, but we had so much fun just us girls shooting! It was so sweet getting shots of 3 generations - mom, daughter, + granddaughter.
When we arrived to Grayton Beach State Park, I actually wasn't sure how much shoot time we would have as there was a huge storm just off to the side of us that looked to be heading our way, with lightening popping off in the distance. Amber had her makeup professionally done though + we were already there ready to go, so we said let's chance it + see how much we get done before we re-schedule. I am so glad we did + they were so chill with everything, as this ended up being one of the prettiest sessions I had this summer season - the diffused lighting from the storm really made the colors pop with some contrast too. I couldn't believe how pretty the colors were as we shot + even when I was editing after.
These ladies were so fun to work with - I'm always grateful when clients trust me to go with the flow + take a chance even when the weather looks a little iffy! Sometimes it turns out to be the perfect evening like this.
Also, peep that very last shot with that puffy bright pink cloud that popped out at the end of our session, just as we started to run off the beach from the storm that had finally reached us! We got so lucky!
